We had about 15 people come out to the September 2019 edition of “Let’s Fix Your Website.” We switched for fall to third Tuesday’s of the month and will continue to see how this date works. This avoids our Monday statutory holidays that happen just about every month, and also Lokaal has better availability on Tuesdays.
Food and drinks continue to be sponsored by Weglot (https://www.weglot.com) Weglot automatically translates your website content in the cloud, and features an easy workflow to manage all translations in as many as 100+ languages.
Our meeting space is courtesy of Lokaal (https://lokaal.space). Lokaal is a shared coworking space for creative entrepreneurs who want to belong to and work in a collaborative environment filled with other talented minds.
This month’s meetup had a lot of new people who had never come out to a WordPress meetup before. As usual the array of challenges facing owners of WordPress websites ranges from the really basic (“my account doesn’t have admin privileges and I cannot make changes to themes”) to the intermediate (“how do I change this slider in a page builder I know nothing about”) to the advanced (“I’d like to use CSS to change the size of a particular piece of text”).
I have noticed that there is a wider and wider gamut of questions coming at us and sometimes one person’s challenge or issue gets an inordinate amount of time during the session. Other people start to get restless because sometimes the problems are really complex and take much more time than was intended. With this in mind we are going to try a maximum of 10 minutes to resolve a question. Think of it as speed help-desk. If we cannot quickly get to a potential solution within 10 minutes we will need to move on. If we find there are no more questions to address we can return back to the questions we got stuck at.
Another issue is where a WordPress site owner doesn’t have ready access to their credentials. If you want help with a challenge we will most likely need administrative access to your site. If you don’t know your account or have never logged in we will most likely not be able to help you. So please bring administrative credentials to the meetup. If you don’t have administrative credentials, get them. Any WordPress site owner must have administrative rights to fully maintain their website. Anything less won’t do.
Our next meetup will be held on October 15th.

This is awesome, glad to see it taking place.
It would be great if you could post some of the questions here and maybe someone could jump on the answer in the comments as well and continue the spirit of the meet up, virtually.
Also, 10 minutes is probably very generous, It should be plenty of time to provide a sufficient answer for the user to understand the concept and provide a guidance for further research.
Hi Alex-
I love how you and Brent are always trying to make things better! The 10-minute limit is a great example,
Keep up the great work.
